Emily joined the staff in October 2013 and became a Certified Lay Minister in 2015. She has been a member of Wheeler since 1995. Before that she was a member of Blountville UMC since birth. She has a degree in elementary education from E.T.S.U.  Since joining Wheeler, Emily has served in many capacities and areas throughout the years, including leading a Bible Story time for our childcare children on Tuesday and Thursday. Emily has a husband, Arved and two sons who also attend Wheeler. She enjoys taking care of her immediate, extended and church families. Emily is pleased and honored to be able to serve the Lord and the people of Wheeler.

Anthony Norton

Anthony is a retired USAF Jet Engine mechanic originally from Greeneville, TN by way of Detroit MI. Most of his career was spent in Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, and the Pacific Rim. He is a proud Father to two daughters entering High School in the Fall and a son who graduates ETSU in May. His wife is a software engineer for Bright Software; the same people who operate Bright’s Zoo in Telford.  In his spare time, he enjoys keeping up two small farms and caring for a host of animals; both large and small.

Matthew Hartgrove

Matt joined the staff at Wheeler in May of 2016. He is a music student at East Tennessee State University where he will graduate with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal music education in 2017. Matt has a passion for music and wants to honor God through it. A couple of his favorite scriptures are Psalm 150 verses 1 and 2 and Psalm 23:4 

Psalm 150: 1-2: "Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. 2. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His Excellent Greatness." 

Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Worship Accompanist

Chris Fritz

Chris Fritz has been playing in churches for most of her adult life, as an organist, pianist, and worship team keyboard player. She has served in a Christian and Missionary Alliance church, a Lutheran church, a non-denominational Bible church, a United Methodist church, and a Full Gospel church. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She has been giving private piano lessons for more years that she cares to admit and has also served as accompanist for numerous elementary school, middle school, high school, and college music programs and contests and for many musical theater productions. She currently is the accompanist for the Vance Middle School choirs and the Tennessee High School choir under the direction of Jason Whitson.

Chris and her husband, Don, moved to Bristol in 2016 to be slightly closer to three out of four of their children.  She enjoys working out, raising chickens, gardening, and home remodeling.
