Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Wheeler Church located?
We are located across the street from Northeast State Community College, Tri Cities Airport, and next door to Holston Elementary/Middle Schools. The physical and post office address is 211 Sanders Street, Blountville, TN 37617

Where & when are the church services?
Our two morning services are held on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 11 a.m. Occassionally, we offer Sunday evening worship at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center. Currently.  There are several special worship services throughout the year such as: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve Candlelight.

Where is the main entrance?
On Sunday mornings you may enter any of our exterior doors. During the week, the main entrance and church office entrance is in the side parking lot off Sanders Street. We usually keep the front door of the church locked during the week due to security reasons because of our childcare center.

How would you describe the church services?
Wheeler Church's morning services follow more of the traditional liturgy and format. The evening service (Fall/Winter/Spring) is casual, informal and uses more contemporary music. It meets in the Family Life Center.

How should I dress?
Dress comfortably. Though we have some members who dress up, we don't worry about what you wear. We are just happy to have you worship with us!

Will I have to say anything or sign anything?
Don't worry... you will not be put on the spot, singled-out or embarrassed. To have a record of your attendance, we encourage everyone to sign "Attendance" pads, which are located in the pews.

What about my children?
A nursery is available for children and it is located at the end of the education wing hallway (directly down the hall from the entrance to the sanctuary). Our volunteers are safe sanctuary trained.

I'm not a member... can I receive Communion?
Yes, United Methodists have an "open" table, meaning all persons are invited to receive the elements.
